This a very popular surfing spot for surfers all year round and also in close proximity to the `Kumana Bird park ` which is very popular among the Japanese tourists specially visiting the Arugambay area for bird watching. Other popular activities such as Lagoon Safari, Boat Safari, and Cycle Tours are common among the tourists as well as hiring foot cycles for cycle tours to visit many of the Archeological places in surrounding areas, such as, (1) Muhudu Maha Viharaya, (2) Maghul Maha Viharaya, (3) Nilagiri Saya ( Lahugla ).
